Job Title: Stores Operations Executive
Job Summary:
The Stores Operations executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory, warehousing, and material handling functions within the steel plant. This role ensures that all materials and supplies are accurately received, stored, and distributed to support the plant's production processes and compliance with safety and quality standards is ensured.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
• Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.
• Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and categorization of all stored items for easy identification and retrieval.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize store operations, reduce lead times, and enhance productivity.
• Streamline material handling processes to improve workflow and minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper utilization of warehouse space and storage systems.
Coordination and Communication:
• Coordinate with procurement, production, and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to manage deliveries and resolve any issues.
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure all store operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Enforce proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
Team Leadership & Development:
• Supervise and mentor storekeepers, warehouse staff, and logistics personnel.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to improve team efficiency.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in stores management, inventory control, or warehouse operations, preferably in a steel plant or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to material storage and handling.
