Roles & responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Planning:
•
Support and drive the Purchase Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan as approved by the Director and Business Committee (BC).
•
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of raw materials, components, and services.
•
Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and cost control measures. Monitor and report on procurement expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost reductions.

Master Data Management and Governance:
•
Oversee the management of procurement-related master data, including supplier information, material specifications, and procurement records, to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.

Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures for master data management, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Build the Sourcing, Procurement and Logistics Organization and Team:
•
Propose review the organization structure, Roles and design for the Function and align it to Strat Plan/ AOP requirements.
•
Implement Balanced Score Card (BSC) of the HoDs - 1 of the Function.
•
Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
•
Manage employee engagement, performance management, learning & development of own team.
•
Coach and build sourcing competency in the team for all raw materials (RM) and packaging materials (PM).
Sourcing, Procurement and Logistics Operations:
•
Define and establish sourcing and procurement policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and templates to ensure consistency and compliance across procurement activities.
•
Review and approve sourcing strategies and processes based on comprehensive category and spend analytics and drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and overall procurement effectiveness.
•
Review Spend, Vendor and Market analysis and approve RM/ MRO purchase strategies and operating model e.g. RFQ Buy/ Tender/ ARC/ Catalog and implement Digital Procurement.
•
Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders (POs) in compliance with Delegation of Powers (DoP) and RASCI matrix, maintaining high standards of accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
•
Oversee and manage logistics operations to ensure seamless inbound material flow, effective coordination with manufacturing, and efficient handling of documentation and delivery processes.
•
Oversee inventory levels and manage supply chain processes to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize disruptions.
•
Drive process transformation initiatives and integrate digital tools to streamline procurement and logistics operations, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Supplier Intelligence and Relationship Management:
•
Enhance supplier intelligence through data analysis and market insights to support strategic decision-making and foster strong supplier relationships.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.

Identify and manage procurement risks including Supply Risks, Forward and Options, Hedging, Commodity Trading, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
•
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all plant operations (ISO 45001) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
•
Promote sustainable practices. Lead overall initiative on improving sustainability measures across all Plants.
Qualifications & Skills:
•
B.E (Mechanical Preferred) or B.Sc.
•
MBA – Operations or Supply Chain (Desired).
•
Name of Professional Certification/ Qualification: CPM/CSM or IIMM equivalent.
•
Typical role requires a professional experience of ~15-18 years of extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management within the manufacturing sector, preferably in steel and aluminium wire products. At least 5-7 years as Head Procurement in mid sized company (Rs 1000 – 1500 Crores )
