Role Summary:-
The Support Material Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, organization, and distribution of support materials within the organization. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary materials, and collaborating with various departments to meet their material needs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock of all support materials, Conduct regular audits and inspections of inventory to prevent shortages and excess, Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
2. Procurement: Source and purchase support materials from suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality materials. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues related to product quality or delivery. ...
3. Distribution and Logistics: Coordinate the distribution of materials to various departments as needed, Optimize logistics and transportation processes to ensure efficient delivery, Resolve any issues related to material handling and distribution.
4. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with department heads to understand their material requirements and provide solutions, Support project teams with the necessary materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement, provide training and support to staff on material handling procedures.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze inventory and procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings, Prepare regular reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and cost analysis, Recommend improvements based on data-driven insights.
6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to material management, Implement and monitor safety procedures for material handling and storage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Min 5 years of experience in material management, inventory control, or procurement.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management technique.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and inventory management SAP MM Module
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
