functionally to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while optimizing inventory
levels and minimizing excess stock.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Planning & Forecasting: Lead and refine the demand planning process by analyzing
historical data, sales trends, production schedules, and market conditions to accurately
forecast material needs.
Purchase Planning & Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive purchase plans based on
accurate forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels. Establish strategies to meet
long-term procurement goals while minimizing costs and ensuring supply continuity.
Inventory Optimization: Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock,
prevent overstocking or stockouts, and reduce working capital tied up in inventory.
Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce excess stock.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key
suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and service levels to ensure the best value for
the company.
Vendor Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess supplier performance based on delivery
accuracy, lead times, quality, and price. Identify potential issues early and collaborate with
vendors to resolve any performance gaps.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production, sales, and logistics teams
to align purchasing strategies with production schedules and sales forecasts. Ensure that
procurement supports business operations seamlessly.
Cost Management: Assist in managing the procurement budget by identifying opportunities
for cost savings, managing purchase price variances, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing
decisions.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain (e.g., supplier disruptions,
geopolitical factors) and proactively develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and improve purchasing processes, workflows,
and systems to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve lead times.
Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior purchase
planners and procurement team members. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous
improvement within the team.
Reporting & Documentation: Generate and analyze reports on procurement activities,
inventory performance, and supplier performance for senior management. Maintain
accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration,
Logistics, or a related field. Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or
inventory planning, with a proven track record in leading purchase planning activities and
managing complex procurement strategies.
Skills:
o Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex
data and develop actionable plans
o Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
o Expertise in inventory management and forecasting techniques
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with
ERP systems (e.g., Stone profits, SAP, Oracle)
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
simultaneously
o Strong knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes, contract management,
and inventory control
o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with global sourcing and managing international suppliers
Advanced proficiency in procurement and supply chain software
Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an office environment and visit supplier locations when required
Work Environment:
Full-time position with standard office hours .
Associate will need to work in shifts, supporting US time-zones.
