Skills Required
- Understanding of electrical testing principles and equipment such as cables, transformers, CT&PT, insulators, smart meters, etc.
- Knowledge of testing standards and regulations
- Financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and obtaining certifications for testing procedures and equipment
- Ability to analyze test data to identify trends, inconsistencies and potential issues, using statistical software and other data analysis tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Open to learning and immediately putting it into practice
Job Description
- Provide expert guidance on the testing of various electrical equipment mentioned above.
- Ensure all testing is conducted as per industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE and national guidelines
- Oversee the development of new testing methodologies and the maintenance of testing equipment
- Identify opportunities for expanding testing services and collaborate with the various DisComs and manufacturers
- Client management, providing regular updates on testing progress and addressing any questions or concerns they may have
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Carry out any other projects/ tasks assigned by the reporting officer from time to time
