We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Sales Engineer with experience in the
Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing industry. The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in
identifying and meeting customer needs by combining technical expertise with strong sales
acumen. This position requires a deep understanding of aerospace and defence
manufacturing processes, industry standards, and a proven ability to build relationships with
customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement: Act as the primary technical liaison between customers
and the company, providing expert consultation to understand and meet customer
requirements.
Sales Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within the
Aerospace & Defence sectors. Build and maintain relationships with key
stakeholders, including engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers.
Technical Presentations & Demonstrations: Prepare and deliver technical
presentations and product demonstrations that showcase how company solutions
meet customer requirements.
Proposal Development: Work with cross-functional teams to develop and customize
proposals, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, budgets, and project
timelines.
Account Management: Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of
customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and
technological advancements to inform sales strategies.
Contract Negotiation: Assist in the negotiation of contracts, ensuring compliance
with aerospace and defence industry regulations and standards.
Project Management Support: Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing
teams to support project implementation, addressing any technical issues that arise
during the process.
Reporting: Regularly update CRM systems, provide accurate sales forecasts, and
report on key sales metrics to management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
Experience: 9+ years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering within
the Aerospace & Defence manufacturing industry. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of aerospace and defence
manufacturing processes, materials, and regulatory standards (e.g., AS9100, ITAR,
DFARS).
Sales Skills: Proven track record in B2B sales, especially in complex technical
products or solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the
ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and
attend industry events (up to 50% travel).
Technical Tools: Proficiency in CRM systems, CAD software, and other relevant
tools.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with government procurement processes and defence contract
requirements.
Experience with specific manufacturing technologies, such as CNC machining,
additive manufacturing, or composites used in aerospace applications.
Previous experience working with regulatory compliance related to defence
manufacturing (ITAR/EAR).
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
