Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Plant Safety: Ensure day-to-day safety across all operations at the plant, including production, maintenance, and logistics activities.
Safety Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits across all plant departments to ensure adherence to safety standards and practices.
Incident Reporting & Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and hazardous incidents. Document and analyze these incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Training & Awareness: Organize and conduct safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors. Promote a strong safety culture through awareness programs, tool-box talks, and safety drills.
Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, environmental laws, and company policies. Keep updated with changes in safety regulations and implement necessary adjustments to the plant's safety procedures.
Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and first-aid readiness.
PPE Management: Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers and maintain an inventory of safety equipment.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of safety incidents, audits, training programs, and compliance reports for internal and external audits.
Liaison with Authorities: Coordinate with local and government safety authorities during inspections, audits, or emergencies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the cement, construction, or heavy industry sectors.
- Certifications: Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA will be an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to identify hazards and implement control measures.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
