Resource Planning & Allocation:
Oversee the allocation and scheduling of resources, including dry dock, fit-out berth, fabrication bays, blasting & painting cells, manpower, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient operations.
Coordinate with Project Planners, maintenance team and various departments to align resources with multiple projects requirements and timelines.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on resource utilization, and potential bottlenecks.
Regularly update and adjust resource allocation plans based on project progress, unexpected delays, and changing priorities.
Planning for existing projects:
Formulate long-term and short-term plans to optimize shipyard operations and resource utilization.
Prepare Macro Plan, clearly identifying workload in each Section of Production month wise and indicate efficiency norms and stage wise lead times assumed for preparation of the Macro Plan.
Distribute Micro Plan to various concerned Sections of Production Department, as well as Design, Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain Management.
Conduct discussion with each Department/Section and finalize Macro Plan with Production where monthly targets are clearly agreed upon
Asset Utilization Optimization:
Monitor the usage of large assets and resources to ensure high utilization rates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency or reassign resources as needed.
Conduct utilization analysis for dry docks, fit-out berths, and fabrication areas to determine under- or over-utilization, working to resolve bottlenecks and resource conflicts.
Propose and implement process improvements for resource scheduling and allocation, ensuring seamless operations and reduced idle time for key assets.
