Quality Assurance & Inspection
Perform inspections on hull and structural components, including raw materials, welds, assemblies, and final structures, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes (such as ISO, IACS standards).
Monitor welding activities, check for welding defects, and verify adherence to welding procedure specifications (WPS) and qualified welder performance (WPQ).
Oversee dimensional inspections for structural assemblies to confirm alignment with design tolerances.
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCR), and other quality documentation.
Participate in quality audits, maintaining records for regulatory and internal compliance.
Develop quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection checklists aligned with quality standards.
Continuous Improvement
Identify recurring quality issues, root causes, and suggest corrective and preventive actions to mitigate defects in hull and structural production.
Work collaboratively with production teams to implement best practices for quality improvement.
Conduct training sessions to enhance the quality awareness of production and welding teams.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to quality control activities, particularly for high-risk tasks such as welding and heavy structural handling.
Keep abreast of industry best practices, codes, and standards to ensure the shipyard maintains up-to-date quality control practices.
