strategies to opƟmize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve supplier relaƟonships.
Key ResponsibiliƟes
1. Inventory Management
- Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to opƟmize stock levels.
- Analyse inventory levels, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with production planning and logistics teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
2. Procurement and Purchasing
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier relationships.
- Manage the purchasing process, including *RFQs (Requests for QuotaƟons), negotiations, and contract
management.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality goods and services.
- Ensure compliance with company policies & SOPs (relevant purchase and inventory), laws and regulations
(per FSSAI).
3. BRCGS Issue 9 Compliance
- Supplier Management:
a. Ensure suppliers meet BRCGS Issue 9 requirements, including supplier evaluation, approvals, and
performance monitoring.
b. Maintain up-to-date supplier documentation, including supplier audits, risk assessments, and
performance reports.
- Supplier Specifications:
a. Establish and maintain detailed supplier specification sheets for raw materials and packaging.
b. Collaborate with QA to ensure all materials meet defined safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Traceability:
a. Implement systems for end-to-end traceability of raw materials and packaging as per BRCGS standards.
b. Ensure rapid and accurate recall procedures are in place and regularly tested with suppliers, in alignment
with the FSMS Manager
- Documentation and Audits:
a. Maintain complete and organized documentation for procurement and inventory functions to comply
with BRC requirements.
b. Support internal and external audits, ensuring all procurement and inventory processes adhere to global
food safety standards.
4. Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of inventory and procurement professionals.
- Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
5. Performance Metrics and Reporting
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory and procurement.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on inventory levels, procurement performance, and cost
savings.
