Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on cost optimization and quality assurance.
Source and procure raw materials such as iron ore, scrap metal, ferroalloys, and consumables required for the foundry operations.
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with local and international suppliers to secure favorable terms.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with company standards.
Develop alternative supplier sources to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
Operational Efficiency:
Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to meet production schedules.
Work closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to manage inventory levels and optimize the supply chain.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Monitor and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, market volatility, and supplier dependencies.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and KPIs.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement function.
Market Analysis and Trends:
Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and industry developments to anticipate changes and adapt procurement strategies accordingly.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement performance and market dynamics.
Key Skills and Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of procurement practices and supply chain management in the iron and steel industry.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
Knowledge of global sourcing and import/export regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role within the iron and steel industry.
Familiarity with foundry operations and the specific material requirements of iron and steel production.
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage.

Cost savings achieved through strategic procurement.
Supplier delivery performance and quality compliance.
Inventory turnover and stock optimization.
