Job Title:** Safety Manager – Dismantling & Demolition/Project Erection

**Job Purpose:**
To ensure the safety and compliance of all dismantling, demolition, and project erection activities by supervising safety patrollers, scaffolding experts, and rescuers. The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols, monitoring compliance, and taking corrective actions to prevent incidents and ensure a safe working environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Supervision of Safety Personnel:**
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of safety patrollers, scaffolding experts, and rescuers.
- Ensure that all safety personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Provide guidance and support to the safety team, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.
2. **Safety Protocol Development & Implementation:**
- Develop, review, and implement safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines for dismantling, demolition, and project erection activities.
- Ensure that all safety measures are in place before the commencement of any work.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and briefings to keep the workforce informed of safety requirements and updates.
3. **Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification:**
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for all activities related to dismantling, demolition, and erection.
- Ensure that all risks are mitigated through the implementation of appropriate control measures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of the project.
4. **Permit to Work (PTW) System:**
- Manage the Permit to Work (PTW) system, ensuring that all activities are conducted under the appropriate permits.
- Verify that all safety measures outlined in the PTW are in place and adhered to.
5. **Incident Investigation & Reporting:**
- Lead investigations into any safety incidents, near misses, or accidents that occur on-site.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure that all incidents are reported to the relevant authorities as required.
6. **Safety Audits & Inspections:**
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the site to identify and rectify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory safety requirements.
- Document and report findings from audits and inspections, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
7. **Training & Competency Development:**
- Organize and conduct safety training programs for all personnel involved in dismantling, demolition, and erection activities.
- Ensure that all workers are aware of the safety procedures and are competent to perform their tasks safely.
- Keep records of all training sessions and competency assessments.
8. **Scaffolding & Rescue Operations:**
- Oversee scaffolding operations, ensuring that all scaffolding is erected, inspected, and maintained according to safety standards.
- Supervise rescue operations, ensuring that rescuers are prepared and equipped to respond to emergencies.
- Ensure that all rescue plans are developed in coordination with the safety incharge and demolition incharge.
9. **Compliance & Reporting:**
- Ensure that all dismantling, demolition, and erection activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit safety reports to the project management and HSE head, highlighting safety performance and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and corrective actions.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
- **Education:**
- Graduate with a Diploma in Industrial Safety or an equivalent qualification.
- **Experience:**
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in safety management, particularly in dismantling, demolition, and project erection activities.
- **Skills:**
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the construction industry.
- Experience in supervising safety teams and managing complex safety operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, develop safety protocols, and manage incident investigations.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and at different project sites.
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing inspections and supervising activities on-site.
