- Operating the crane:
- Safely maneuver the EOT crane to lift, transport, and precisely position loads using controls for hoisting, trolley movement, and bridge travel.
- Follow hand signals from designated signalers to accurately position loads.
- Monitor load weight limits and ensure the crane is within its operational capacity.
- Safety procedures:
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of the crane, including checks on cables, hooks, brakes, and electrical systems to identify potential hazards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies related to crane operation.
- Report any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain awareness of surrounding work areas and personnel to avoid collisions.
- Material handling:
- Securely attach lifting gear to loads using appropriate rigging methods.
- Carefully lift, move, and lower materials to designated locations.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, conveyors, or other equipment as needed.
- Documentation and reporting:
- Maintain operational logs, recording details of lifts, load weights, and any unusual occurrences.
- Report any issues or incidents related to crane operation to supervisors.
- Experience: Prior experience operating EOT cranes in an industrial setting.
- Physical abilities: Good hand-eye coordination, ability to work at heights, and adequate physical strength to handle controls.
- Technical knowledge: Understanding of crane mechanics, electrical systems, and safety procedures.
- Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with signalers, other workers, and supervisors.
