Job Overview:
The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems in oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oil and gas industry operations, safety standards, and relevant engineering principles, with experience working in both offshore and onshore environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering:
Develop electrical and instrumentation designs for oil and gas facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and safety regulations.
Create detailed E&I drawings, schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams.
Design power distribution systems, control systems, and instrumentation networks tailored to oil and gas processes.
Select electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls based on project requirements and standards.
Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems comply with relevant safety standards
Adhere to industry best practices for hazardous area classifications and protection systems in oil and gas installations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, and process engineers) to integrate electrical and instrumentation systems into overall plant design.
Report on project progress, challenges, and solutions to senior management.
Provide technical documentation and reports on designs, projects, and installations.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in E&I software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar engineering design tools.
Hands-on experience with instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and control systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, motor control centers (MCC), transformers, and generators.
