Monitor supplier quality performance through regular audits, inspections, and quality data analysis. Ensure that products delivered meet design specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Supplier Audits and Corrective Actions:
Conduct regular supplier audits (including initial, periodic, and special audits) to evaluate compliance with quality management systems and customer requirements. Develop and follow up on corrective and preventive actions for quality issues identified during audits.
Quality Improvement Initiatives:
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve process stability, and enhance overall quality performance within the supply base.
Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
Lead investigations into quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with suppliers. Utilize tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Pareto analysis to resolve problems effectively.
Supplier Development:
Work with suppliers to improve their manufacturing processes, focusing on process control, statistical process control (SPC), and other quality tools to reduce variability and improve product quality.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure that all supplier quality documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with internal quality systems and regulatory requirements. Maintain records of supplier performance, audit results, and corrective actions taken.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, production, and logistics, to ensure quality expectations are met throughout the entire supply chain.
Performance Metrics:
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier quality, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and quality improvement progress. Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
