About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Analyst to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cost accounting, MIS reporting, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food processing industry. This role requires a strong understanding of cost drivers, variance analysis, and the ability to identify and implement cost optimization strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver accurate and timely MIS reports on inventory, production, sales, product yield, and overhead analysis.
- Conduct in-depth cost analysis of raw materials, direct and indirect costs, and process efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
- Prepare product cost estimates for new and existing products, and develop price quotes for customers.
- Monitor process changes, assess their impact on cost structure, and develop strategies for cost optimization.
- Perform margin and contribution analysis to identify profitable products, customers, and segments.
- Manage inventory valuation and control, investigating discrepancies and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, finance, and sales) to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning, providing valuable cost insights.
- Utilize ERP systems (Tally Prime preferred) for accurate cost tracking and financial reporting.
- Track productivity performance against plans on a weekly and monthly basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (MBA in Finance preferred). CMA (Inter) candidates will also be considered.
- 1-3 years of experience in cost accounting, MIS, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment (food processing experience highly preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
- Experience using ERP systems (Tally Prime or other industry-standard ERP) for cost tracking and reporting.
- Proven ability to work with automated costing tools and dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost control and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
