1. Responsible for carrying out literature search and proposing synthetic routes for target
reference materials
2. Design of synthetic routes for the new target molecules
3. The candidate should be conversant with all important reactions, name reactions,
product identification and purification through various techniques such as
crystallisation, column chromatography and chemical purification.
4. Responsible for the synthesis of the products at diverse scales (milligram to kg)
5. Thorough in troubleshooting problems encountered during the reaction sequence
6. Ability to work on more challenging and innovative projects
7. Try to improve the lab quality management system
8. Conversant with lab safety norms
9. Handling General Material balance, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Recovery of
solvents, Selection of equipment etc.,
10. Characterization of compounds based on IR, NMR, Mass Spectra, Elemental analysis
etc.
11. To execute and complete the projects as per the timelines.
12. Ensuring that the availability of chemicals, equipment and glass wares etc. for the
projects and forwarding the purchase requisitions.
13. Periodic check of the assigned equipment to ensure that the equipment is in good
