Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite Position Overview:We are seeking a seasoned and strategic professional to lead its Alternative Investments division within the Private Wealth & Family Office business. The Vice President / Associate Vice President – Alternative Investments will assume a key leadership role, responsible for end-to-end management and growth of the alternative investments’ portfolio. This includes strategic planning, business development, investment oversight, team building & management, and overall P&L responsibility.
Reporting directly to the founding partners, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in shaping investment strategies, fostering client relationships, and strengthening our presence in the alternative investment ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
•Drive the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the alternative investments vertical.
•Lead with ownership of the business line’s P&L, reporting directly to Founding Partners.•Build and manage high-performing team; lead hiring, training, and mentoring initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
•Align investment objectives with the broader organizational strategy and client mandates.
Deal Sourcing & Evaluation:
•Identify and originate investment opportunities across multiple sectors and stages including Early Revenue, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Pre IPO, Structured deals, Real estate, and special situations financing.
•Conduct rigorous market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and sector mapping to inform investment strategies.
•Evaluate business models, financial statements, and interaction with leadership teams to determine investment viability.
•Should be well connected in the investment fraternity to PE, VC, Angel Networks, Family offices for both sourcing and closing the deals
•Ability to evaluate existing funds in the PE/ VC Space to invest into and take Co-investment Rights
Due Diligence & Structuring:
•Lead end-to-end due diligence processes encompassing financial, legal, and commercial assessments.
•Engage and coordinate with external advisors, legal counsel, and industry specialists to acquire comprehensive and pertinent insights essential for informed investment decision-making.
•Present comprehensive investment memorandums and recommendations to the investment committee.
Investment Execution & Monitoring:
•Oversee the documentation process including term sheets, shareholder agreements, and investment contracts.
•Ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and adherence to internal governance frameworks.
•Monitor existing investments for performance, risk, and value creation opportunities.
•Work closely with portfolio companies to drive operational efficiency, strategic decision-making, and financial outcomes.
Reporting & Communication:
•Develop and deliver periodic reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, encompassing fund performance metrics, investment evaluations, and strategic insights.Ensure clear, concise, and timely communication with Partners, internal teams, the Investment Committee, and other key stakeholders to facilitate alignment and informed decision-making.
Market Analysis
•Continuously monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and advancements in emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities and risks.
•Conduct in-depth evaluations of existing Private Equity and Venture Capital funds for potential investments and assess opportunities to secure co-investment rights.
•Generate strategic insights and actionable recommendations based on comprehensive market analysis to support informed investment decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements:
•Experience: 10–15 years in financial services with substantial experience in buy-side roles (PE/VC firms), investment banking for Unlisted space, or part of leading startup ecosystems on the fund raising and evaluation side
•Education: Chartered Accountant (CA)/Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), along with an MBA from a reputed institution.
•Investment Acumen: Strong understanding of alternative asset classes, fund structures, co-investment models, and financial instruments.
•Leadership Competence: Proven experience in leading teams, driving business outcomes, and managing client relationships at a senior level.
•Analytical Capability: Advanced financial modeling skills, data-driven decision-making, and a solid grasp of business drivers.
•Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate complex investment ideas with clarity.
•Strategic Mindset: Visionary approach with the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging investment trends and opportunities.
