The Insights & Analytics Analyst supports various customer models by tailoring insights and reporting to customer needs, whether high-touch customization, agile adaptability, or standardized execution. By integrating expertise in Circana/IRI, Nielsen and other data sets, data analysis and visualization tools, the Insights & Analytics Analyst plays a pivotal role in aligning analytical excellence with customer objectives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Collect and analyze category performance data, including sales trends, category health, and SKU performance, to generate insights that inform strategic decisions.
Format national and customer data from datasets (e.g., Circana/IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, etc.) for analysis, creating clear and actionable visualizations using tools like Spotlight, PowerBI, or Tableau
Populate customized and standardized category review decks for internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
Generate weekly/monthly assortment and customer performance reports, providing timely updates to internal stakeholders.
Perform quarterly checks on category health, including tracking key metrics such as category share, space-to-sales (SoS) analysis, and SKU optimization
Create ranking reports and assortment analyses for category reviews, leveraging standardized templates to ensure consistency and scalability across accounts.
Respond to ad-hoc requests for quick insights and data summaries, supporting internal teams with actionable recommendations.
Partner and work with internal POG analyst and work on end-to-end project deliverables.
Partner with internal GBS resources and category leadership teams to align insights and analysis with broader business objectives.
Expected Experience & Required Skills
Experience in working as Category insights analyst.
Proficiency in analysis of consumption data (Circana/IRI, Nielsen, etc.) with a demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights or similar FMCG market analysis tools.
Strong technical proficiency with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Spotlight, and category management software
Proven attention to detail and accuracy in creating reports and visualizations for category performance
Ability to work collaboratively independently and also with internal teams to deliver effective solutions
Knowledge of retailer-specific data (e.g., Luminate, 84.51) and requirements for data formatting
Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization software.
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.) and SQL.
R, Python, or other statistical analysis software (optional but beneficial). Preferred Skills
Experience in consumer-packaged goods or related industries preferably in the US Market
Familiarity with shared service models and integration into data analysis processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on interpreting and presenting data clearly
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint, for reporting and analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and impactful narratives tailored to diverse audiences
