1. To carry out design of hull structures and shrewd checking of quality & correctness of hull
structural plans of modifications, retrofits, conversions and Marine Equipment &
component (MEC) structures in accordance with Class Rules and applicable
International/National technical standards for Ships in Services and MEC structures.
2. Formulate objectives and set targets for various Section Managers and Engineers
functioning under his charge.
3. Checking of Hull Nesting Drawings, Profile Cutting Drawings, Hull Part Definition Drawings,
Block wise drawings for Bending Jigs and Fixtures, block wise drawings for Lifting, Rigging
and Transportation
4. Estimate and prepare plans for optimum utilization of the resources to generate the
Production drawings and take all the necessary initiatives to provide technical guidance to
Production/QC on as and when required basis.
5. Assess project requirements during FEED stage and prepare the BoM/MTO to help the
commercial team for bidding the new projects.
