Duties & Responsibilities:
•Manage high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable processes for construction projects, including invoice matching to Purchase Orders (POs), delivery slips, and construction contracts.
•Oversee the AP team’s daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
•Develop, implement, and maintain AP policies and procedures specific to construction activities, including subcontractor payments and lien waivers.
•Review and process payment applications, construction progress invoices, and retention payments.
•Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely communication on payment inquiries and issue resolution.
•Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to align invoices with budgets, approved price lists, and contracts.
•Track and report on construction project costs to ensure compliance with budgets and financial forecasts.
•Coordinate AP processes between Canadian operations and international head offices, ensuring smooth collaboration and adherence to internal standards.
•Analyze KPI metrics and dashboards to ensure team’s productivity remains strong.
•Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
•Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory compliance related to construction AP.
•Report to Indian Director of Operations along with Canadian based AP Manager who oversees the entire process.
Qualifications:
•7+ years of experience managing AP functions, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within construction AP.
•Strong expertise in construction contracts, vendor management, lien releases, and retention payments.
•Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field (highly desirable to have a professional designation (CA, CPA, CMA, etc.))
•Proven ability to lead and develop AP teams, with a track record of mentoring and managing employees.
•Experience working with international head offices; proficiency in coordinating across time zones.
•Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, suitable for interacting with executives and global stakeholders.
•Familiarity with ERP systems and construction management software (Yardi, GC Pay, Acumatica, SharePoint, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar platforms).
•Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
•Knowledge of GST/HST compliance and AP processes in Canada is preferred.
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting project priorities.
Expectations:
•Employees are expected to work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
•Employees are expected to be based in Hyderabad and available to attend the office every day in the city
